Starting Affiliate Marketing With Wealth Affiliate

I shall start this write-up with my own story. In 2016, I left my paid job and decided to start and build a career online (the laptop lifestyle). I knew I needed time and lots of effort to sustain my family at that time. So, I started a poultry business alongside, to get money in, while I continue building a career online.

My first online attempt was freelancing, I joined the freelancer.com, and for months; I was bidding for jobs but did not get any job.  Later, I opened an account with fiverr.com, and then the story changed. I made some few dollars within my first two weeks on that platform, got some customers; who returned and gave me more work.

With this conquest, I realized that I could make money online genuinely. Thus, I began my quest for a better life and a more sustainable online business. I thought to myself, ‘If I could make a few dollars online within two weeks, then I should be able to make hundreds and thousands of dollars as well’ (the Oliver Twist mentality).

I later joined a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) program – Longrich, frankly speaking; I still try to promote their products, but as usual, one needs a lot of money to keep moving up on this platform. I did not have that much cash to spare, so I got stuck somewhere on the ladder, struggling to move up.

In my bid to find a platform where I can learn how to build an online marketing business, I found the Wealthy Affiliate (WA) in December 2019. I joined this affiliate team as a free member and upgraded immediately to premium to enjoy all the benefits it has to offer.

 

I have been a premium member for four months now, and  I think it is time to let people who want to build a career online benefit from this platform.  I will give you an unbiased detail about this platform from my experience.

The Platform – Wealthy Affiliate

Just like the name – Wealthy Affiliate, it is a platform designed to teach and equip you with what you need to know to succeed in affiliate marketing.

I have read from several blogs claiming that you can get everything for free on Wealthy Affiliate, but this is not true. The platform offers a free membership, where you have access to just ten training materials and a website (for your blogs) for free.

The premium subscription offers much more, but you must pay 19 USD within the first seven days, or you will pay 49 USD afterward. Going premium; gives you access to more than 100 training materials with free weekly life training. These will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skill for successful affiliate marketing.

Another very good thing on the platform is the community. Here, help is readily available on the platform whenever you need it. I know that working alone can be very tedious and boring, but the platform has thousands of very experienced affiliate marketers that you can relate with and seek ideas.

The third thing that got me so fascinated by this platform is the readily available online tools.  All you need to succeed in this business has been made available for free on the platform. Amazingly, I have all my websites hosted on this platform and enjoy premium themes for free, with good security for my websites.  I must say, that as far as internet marketing is concerned, Wealthy Affiliate is my number one place of call for help.

Kyle and Carson founded Wealthy Affiliate on the 10th September 2005. One outstanding thing about these guys is their openness and willingness to help beginners.

They did not promise to help you build a sustainable business without your effort; rather they will consistently let you know that with hard work and persistence; the sky is not the limit.

Who is Wealthy Affiliate Meant for?

Since I joined WA, I have seen different types of people on the platform; from the young to old, beginners and professionals, stay at home dads and moms. As long as you are ready to take the opportunity seriously by leveraging on the available resources being offered, then you are in the right place.

Also, it is worthy to note that WA is not for people looking for quick rich schemes because you will not learn anything nor find resources here for that.

WA Training

There are two major training programs on the platform:  the Online Entrepreneur Certification and the Affiliate Boot camp. While the Online Entrepreneur Certification is targeted at teaching online business marketing, the affiliate boot camp is for teaching affiliate marketing for the wealthy affiliate.

In my years of surfing through the internet, I have seen several pieces of training, but none has been able to open my eyes like this one.

It taught me how to leverage the strength of search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and the almighty Google for building a sustainable online business.

So many other affiliate marketers will push paid traffic; Kyle diligently opened my eyes to how to get organically generated free traffic and how to use social media for an effective cost-saving attitude on paid adverts.

Phase 1 – Getting Started

Here, Kyle opened up on how to create a website, choose a niche, and an introduction into how to search for SEO keywords.

In building an online presence on your webpage, you need increased traffic (views on your page). Phase 3 – Making Money

One thing I like about WA is how often a reminder that it is not a quick-rich scheme pops up. Affiliate marketing does not bring money overnight, but with persistence and diligence, making money is guaranteed.

In this phase, you will learn how to monetize your website via the use of affiliate links, proper advertising, and how to use Google AdSense.

Phase 4 – Mastering Social Engagement

While so many people waste their time chatting and view people’s achievement profiles on social media, others turn the same social media like Facebook and Reddit into channels for generating income and traffic on their websites.

Wealthy Affiliate will show you a step by step approach on how to join this class of marketers who smile on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as they view their bank accounts.

Phase 5 – Achieving Maximum Success Through Content Creation

Like I mentioned earlier, WA teaches you how to build a sustainable business that is achievable through good content creation. Kyle will teach you how to write good content, even when you have little or no idea of the topic chosen.

With a good write-up, your page can get ranked on search engines like google, yahoo, and bing. This is the beginning of the journey to a sustainable online marketing business.
